In English this group carries the name «Arm of the River». This group consists of 22 members, therein 4 men. The men are in charge of the drums, while the women dance and entertain. Their dances are quick, energetic and very impressive.
The group started in 1971, with a mission to promote culture and find support in each other through a communal activity. The songs are created by one of the older ladies, during nighttime when she’s sleeping.
The members vary in age; from 35 years to approx 80. But due to their energy you would not believe their old age. Located in the Katolani District, the group can easily be found by car, and you’re sure to feel very welcome if you decide to visit!
