If you wish to see how the Kamba people traditionally used to worship, this is the group to contact. These women use drums to create the right vibe, and their dances are impressive and authentic. They consider the beat of the drums to be inspirational and an essential part of their shows, as the movements traditionally were said to come to the people when they were possessed by spirits at nighttime.
Around 1975, the women started to dance during daytime because they wanted younger generations to learn the dance. Eventually they began performing on requests, to boost themselves economically, and they’ve also attended several competitions in later years.
